Privacy & cookies

How this website uses hosting, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and external services.

Last updated: 3 October 2026. This notice describes the services currently used on maisonmatiere.co, an interior-design publication based in Morocco. It applies to this website, not to retailers or social platforms linked from it.

Information used to operate the website

When a browser requests a page, our hosting provider, Hostinger, processes technical information such as the IP address, request time, requested address and browser information to deliver the page, operate the service and maintain security. WordPress also uses cookies for signed-in administrators. Ordinary readers do not need an account to read our guides.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

We use Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand visits and engagement. Events may include page views, scroll depth and outbound-link interactions. A custom affiliate-click event is prepared for links explicitly marked as affiliate links; that does not mean every retailer link is an affiliate link.

Google Analytics uses browser identifiers and cookies where available. Analytics may include device and browser characteristics, referring pages and approximate location. Google Tag Manager delivers the configured tags; the data handling depends on the tags it runs. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how readers interact with our pages through interaction measurements, heatmaps and session replays. Clarity can use cookies and similar technologies to associate interactions with a browser. These tools help us identify confusing navigation and improve page usability. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for Microsoft’s handling of the data.

Fonts, media and external links

Our typography is delivered by Google Fonts, which receives the technical request information needed to serve font files. Article images and videos are served from this site. Following a Pinterest, retailer or other external link takes you to a service with its own privacy and cookie practices. No advertising network is currently integrated into the publication.

Messages you choose to send

If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond, investigate a correction or handle your enquiry. Contacting us through Pinterest also involves Pinterest’s services and policies. Please do not send sensitive information in a public comment. Our contact page explains the current contact route.

Your choices and enquiries

You can review or delete cookies through your browser settings and use browser tools that restrict tracking. Deleting a cookie does not itself erase data already processed by a service, and some technical requests remain necessary to deliver a page. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.

If you have a question about information relating to you, or want to request access, correction or deletion where applicable, use the private enquiry route on our contact page. Do not send an identity document or a password in an initial message. Available rights and how a request is handled depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

Service providers, storage and updates

Hosting, analytics and communication providers may process data in countries other than the reader’s country. Their storage periods and practices are described in their own notices. We do not state a single retention period here for all providers. Messages are retained as needed to handle the enquiry and relevant operational or legal obligations.

We will update this notice when the site’s tools or practices change. This notice describes tracking; it is not a consent banner or a claim that visiting the website gives consent.
